Dear readers，
At the beginning of the new semester, the "Information Commons(IC)" in the Nanjing University of Information Science &Technology’s library, which we have been looking forward to for a long time, will finally meet the readers. Through the preliminary preparation, it will be officially open to all teachers and students on September 15, and the activity of welcoming new students and functional opening experience will come on the afternoon of 14. There will be on-site guidance and exchange among members of the library committee, librarians from peer institutions and books-informatics experts. All the new teachers and students are welcome to experience or study in the library. At that time, there will be space designers to guide and explain the function and use of IC.
IC is the development trend of Libraries in recent years. It is to build the traditional reading room into a multi-functional information commons with intelligent and scientific management, integrating data query, training, conference exchange, creation, leisure, etc. with the care and the strong support of school leadership and help of the general department, efforts are made to overcome the impact of the epidemic, in response to COVID-19 dynamics, after replanning and space transformation, the original electronic reading room which is nearly 1000 square meters in space has became an information sharing space including science and technology experience area, autonomous learning area, exchange and discussion area, reading salon area and seminar room.
