I.Background of issuing Jiangsu Provincial Inter-University's General Card

In February 1995, Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission published the document No.16 (1995) of Jiangsu Province, which formulated the plan outline for the construction and sharing of university literature resources in Jiangsu Province, and approved the publishing of general library card within the scope of ordinary universities in Jiangsu Province. In May of the same year, the Reader Working Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Committee on Library and Information Service was responsible for the establishment of literature resources sharing cooperation network of all the universities in Jiangsu province. The central station of the cooperation network is located in the library of Southeast University. There are branch stations in all regions of the province, which are respectively attached to the Central Library of universities in each region. The first release of the general library card was published in May 1995, and the second release was published in November of the same year. Since then, the general certificate was published in May and November each year, which has been extended to this day.

II. Who can apply for the general library card

All teachers and postgraduates can apply for provincial university's general library card. Readers with inter-university's general library card can borrow literature from all provincial university libraries. The general certificate is issued twice a year in May and November respectively. Please refer to the notice on the library's homepage for the specific time, and the validity period is one year. When applying, you should bring a recent one inch bareheaded photo of yourself, show your campus card, work card or postgraduate card, register e-mail, ID number and other information, and pay a deposit of 100 yuan. If there is no loss or damage to the books within the service life, a deposit of 100 yuan will be refunded when the card is returned.

III. Notes on the use of Jiangsu Provincial Inter-University's General Card

1. The term for the use of each issued general certificate is one year. Upon expiration, the card will be invalid. Readers must apply to the original issuing department for a new one.

2. Readers with the general card can use it in each university’s library of Jiangsu Province, and enjoy the service of borrowing and reading.

3. The general card is only for personal use, and it cannot be lent at will. If it is lost, please go to any registration office to report the loss in time.

4. When readers use the card for the first time in university library, they must check in and confirm before using it.

5. The limit to the amount of books borrowed with the general card is: 50 copies can be borrowed at most with one card, and the accumulated number of borrowed documents is no more than 4 volumes. The borrowing period is according to the regulations of each university library.

6. Readers of the general card must take good care of the literature and abide by the regulations of the document library. If the book is lost, or there is the overdue fine, etc., please pay in time in the document library.

7. When the reader leaves the school due to graduation, transfer and other reasons, he / she should go to the general card issuing department to return and cancel it in time.

Registration time: May and November in every year.

Qualifications: all the teachers and postgraduates of our university; bring one recent 1-inch photo with a deposit of 100 yuan.
